HOW WE GOT STARTED

The Birth of UDFoM

The original association started in 1994 and was called “The Michigan Deer Farmers Association”. There have been three name changes to the association over the years. UDFoM was created when a few farmers on the West side of Michigan felt that farmers from the East side were not meeting their needs, so two associations were created but the state agencies would not acknowledge both groups so we all agreed to blend the boards together and UDFoM was created.
